Dr. matthew glynn, DC
I was lifting weights when the trajectory of my life changed in a split second. I felt a deep pain in my back and knew something was wrong. What I didn't realize was that this one incident would take me on a seven-year journey through some of the most challenging times of my life.
My first thought when it happened, like most people, was that I needed medical attention. I went to my doctor complaining of back pain, and after several X-rays and exams, the best solution available was pain medication and physical therapy. I followed the doctor's recommendations, attending physical therapy regularly and taking the medications prescribed, but I still found myself desperate to manage my intense pain, which often had me bedridden and unable to participate in daily life.
My body was misaligned and deformed, which I felt embarrassed by, and even worse was that my injury kept me from enjoying the things I loved most. I missed working out, going to family events, and getting outside. I went from being an active, outgoing, and social person to hiding away at home. It left me feeling depressed and somewhat hopeless as I struggled to see any progress or change.
It wasn't until someone suggested chiropractic care that my hope was restored, and slowly but surely, I got my life back. When I went in for my first appointment, my doctor spoke with me about how important spinal alignment is for relieving back pain and allowing the body to heal. He recommended a specific course of action, and I trusted his abilities to help me. After each adjustment with my chiropractor, my body started to come back into alignment and, over time, restore the balance it needed. This not only relieved the intense back pain I was experiencing but also helped my body move more freely and smoothly. Finally, my seven-year struggle was over, and I was living pain-free with full mobility and able to get outside, exercise, and participate in all the activities I had longed to do but couldn't. This experience inspired me to leave my 15-year military career to pursue becoming a chiropractor. I joined this field because I want to help people who are missing out on life or unable to enjoy the things they love because they are held back by pain or immobility, just as I was for so long.
My mission as a chiropractor is to offer a drug-free, non-surgical approach for relieving pain and improving mobility so my patients have the freedom to live life on their terms. I am dedicated to collaborating with my team and our patients to help restore balance and, ultimately, live a happy, uninhibited life.

Griffin White
Hi, I'm Griffin White, the head coach and founder of Mind Muscle Fitness. Although I was around sports as a kid, and you might have considered me a younger athlete, I was never the super-fit one. It was a competitive world, and it was all too easy to fall into the trap of comparing myself to others.
I guess you could say I lacked confidence. It started a lifelong commitment of gaining my own self-confidence and acceptance which I think is a big part of what drives my personal training career.
Throughout my life, I struggled with weight issues. I have tried many different fad diets, only to get annoyed with the restrictions, and give up a couple of weeks later. I tried numerous workout programs, but couldn't stick to them, they just weren't the right thing for me. I fell back into old habits because I had no one to hold me accountable and help me.
The pull to be active and more fully engaged in outdoor activities is a motivating factor to put my health first. It was less about how I looked in my skinny jeans, and more about how I felt in being more confident and more purposeful in my daily life.
Unlike many personal trainers you might have met in the past, I don't always love working out. It's not something that feels easy and effortless, so I get it when my clients tell me that they need a little motivation boost. I rely on creativity to keep workouts fun and engaging, rather than exhausting workouts that leave you feeling broken!
I was honored to receive the 2021 award for Best Personal Trainer in Asheville, from the readers of the Mountain Express.
